He began his legal career at the firm of Meltzer Lippe Goldstein Wolf Schlissel & Sazer, where he specialized in construction litigation, real estate and bankruptcy. He then joined the construction litigation boutique firm of Tunstead, Schechter & Torre. At TLGGR, Kevin is the Firm’s Managing Partner and continues to specialize in the area of construction litigation. Kevin graduated cum laude from the State University of New York at Oneonta in 1988, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science. In his senior year, Kevin was selected to participate in the Washington Semester Program. This honor gave him the opportunity to be an intern in the Civil rights Division of the United States Justice Department. This experience stimulated Kevin’s interest in law and, as a result, he applied for admission to law school. Kevin decided to attend Touro Law school, where he was a Dean’s Fellow and received a full scholarship. While at Touro, he was a member of the Law Review and served as the Dean’s Research Assistant. Additionally, Kevin has the distinction of studying law in Oxford, England. Kevin graduated cum laude in 1991. Kevin handles all phases of construction law, including contract negotiations, liens, surety bonds, claims, arbitration, mediation, litigation and appeals. He has substantial experience in handling disputes between sureties, contractors and owners and, in particular, wrongful termination claims and delay claims. In addition, Kevin is experienced in high-profile commercial real estate transactions, bankruptcy proceedings and international real estate development. He is licensed to practice law in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, as well as several Federal District Courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Kevin lives in Greenlawn with his wife, Joanne. Kevin and Joanne have two daughters, Elizabeth and Jennifer. Kevin’s outside interests include spending time with his family, philanthropy and participating in outdoor sports, including cycling and skiing. Kevin is also an avid New York Giants fan. |
